Administering an estate shouldn't mean managing five different providers.

Administering an estate can quickly involve banks, beneficiaries, property, searches, valuations, contractors, agents and professional advisers. EstateCare brings these requirements together through one coordinated Harrisons team, giving executors a single point of contact from the initial estate review through to final distribution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about EstateCare

  • What is EstateCare?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • How much does EstateCare cost?

For standard executor-led UK estates, EstateCare uses a fixed-fee structure based on the value and complexity of the estate. Our current fees start from £3,495 + VAT for estates valued up to £200,000. We will review the estate and explain the proposed fee and scope of work before you instruct us.

  • Is the property sale really included in EstateCare?

Where applicable and agreed as part of the EstateCare instruction, the sale of a residential estate property can be incorporated into the service using our 0% seller-fee model. We will explain how this works and any third-party costs before the property is marketed.

  • Can you help if there is no executor?

Potentially, yes. Estates where there is no acting executor, no Will, uncertainty over the beneficiaries or nobody immediately able to administer the estate may require a different approach. Harrisons can review the circumstances and establish what practical or professional support is required before the administration can progress.

  • Do you work with solicitors?

Yes. EstateCare is designed to complement professional legal and tax advice rather than replace it. Where an estate requires a solicitor, accountant or other regulated professional, we can work alongside the existing adviser or help coordinate the appropriate professional input.

  • Do I need probate before I contact EstateCare?

No. You can contact us at the beginning of the estate administration process. In fact, involving us early can help establish the assets, liabilities, beneficiaries, property position and practical work required while the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration is being dealt with.

  • Can EstateCare help with an empty property?

Yes. If an estate includes an empty property, Harrisons can coordinate inspections, security, insurance requirements, clearance, maintenance and preparation for sale. We can also continue to oversee the property while probate or the wider estate administration is progressing.

  • Can you find missing assets or bank accounts?

Yes. Asset discovery and verification can form part of EstateCare. Depending on the circumstances, we can undertake searches and enquiries intended to identify financial assets, liabilities and other information relevant to establishing the estate.

  • What happens if a beneficiary cannot be found?

Harrisons provides specialist genealogy and beneficiary tracing services. Where beneficiaries are unknown or cannot be located, our genealogy team can undertake research to establish family relationships, identify potential beneficiaries and provide appropriate supporting evidence.

  • Can you arrange house clearance and property maintenance?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Can EstateCare sell the deceased's property?

Yes. Harrisons can coordinate the estate property from initial assessment and valuation through preparation, marketing, negotiation and sale progression. Because property services form part of the wider Harrisons offering, the sale can be managed in the context of the estate rather than as a separate standalone transaction.

  • What if I have already started administering the estate?

That is not a problem. EstateCare does not have to begin immediately after a death. We can review an estate that is already underway, identify what remains outstanding and agree which elements you would like Harrisons to coordinate.

  • Will I still be involved as the executor?

Yes. EstateCare is intended to reduce the practical and administrative burden on you, not remove you from decisions you are responsible for making. We provide a coordinated point of contact, keep you informed and refer appropriate decisions to you as the administration progresses..

  • How long does EstateCare take?

Every estate is different. Timescales can be affected by probate, property sales, tax matters, financial institutions, missing beneficiaries and other complexities. Following our initial review, we can explain the anticipated stages and keep you updated as the estate progresses.

  • How do I get started?

Contact Harrisons for an initial discussion about the estate. We will establish where you are in the administration process, what support is required and whether EstateCare is suitable. We can then explain the proposed scope, pricing and next steps before you decide whether to proceed.
