Before You Upload
If you're uploading photographs rather than scanned copies, please ensure that:
- All four corners of the document are clearly visible.
- The image is clear, sharp and easy to read.
- There is no glare, shadow or blur affecting the document.
- No other objects, hands or fingers appear in the photograph.
- The document has not been cropped or edited.

List of Acceptable Proofs
PROOF OF NAME
- Current signed passport
- Original birth certificate (UK birth certificate issued within 12 months of the date of birth in full form including those issued by UK authorities overseas such as Embassies, High Commissions and HM Forces).
If you are the personal representative on the estate, please use an alternative option for ID for proof of name, as financial institutions do not accept this.
- EEA member state identity card.
- Current UK or EEA photo card driving licence, with counterpart paper license (provisional licenses will not be accepted).
- Full old-style driving license (provisional licenses will not be accepted).
- Photographic registration cards for self -employed individuals in the construction industry
- Confirmation from DWP of state benefits issued within the current year.
- Firearms or shotgun certificate.
- Residence permit issued by the Home Office to EEA nationals on sight of native passport.
- Medical card or letter of confirmation from GP’s practice of registration with the surgery
PROOF OF ADDRESS
- Utility bill (gas, electric, satellite television, landline phone bill) issued within the last three months.
- Water bill issued for the current financial year
A mobile phone bill will not be acceptable
- Local authority council tax bill for the current council tax year.
- EEA member state identity card (if not used for proof of name).
- Current UK or EEA photo card driving licence, with counterpart paper licence (provisional license will not be accepted).
- Original mortgage statement from a recognised lender issued for the last full year
- Solicitor’s letter confirming recent (within previous three months) house purchase or current Land Registry title view
- Council or housing association rent card/statement or tenancy agreement for the current financial year
- Confirmation from DWP of state benefits issued within the current year (if not used for proof of name).
- Bank, Building Society or Credit Union statement (dated within the last three months) or pass book.
- HMRC self-assessment letters or tax demands dated within the current financial year.
- Medical card or letter of confirmation from GP’s practice of registration with the surgery (if not used for proof of name).
